Here is a quick sample of my very first astrophotograph.

I took the image on 8/8/2004 using:

  • Astrovid’s Stellacam II
  • Meade Series 4000 F/3.3 Focal Reducer
  • 12" Meade LX200 GPS UHTC
  • Imperx Laptop Capture Card

This is the only time you will see this rundown on equipment in this category. More indepth opinions on the various equipment items will follow in that category.

More From NASA

Take a look at this historical image from NASA. It’s one of many that I have to scan and upload to the website. Unfortunately I don’t have any history behind this one at the moment. I expect to publish more information with the other ones that I scan and post.

35 Years Ago Today

Apollo 11 lifted off for a rendezvous with history on July 16th, 1969. 100 hours later the Lunar Module separated from the Command/Service Module and descended to the surface of the Moon.
